According to Samsung supply chain sources, Samsung's three-sided display has entered the trial production phase. The three-sided display was reported on last November, and features an interactive side panel. It's not completely known what kind of features the side panel would offer, but it will most likely be used to quickly unlock the device and/or offer a quick menu of most used apps or bookmarks.
Back in February, it was rumored that the Galaxy Note 4 would be the first device to feature this display. Today's news will obviously fuel that rumor, but don't hold your breath. The Note 4 will be unveiled in less than a month and it's unlikely it will be ready in time.
Furthermore, we are hearing that these displays will unsurprisingly be very limited. That could indicate a limited edition Note 4 for Korea or it could wind up on the second coming of the Galaxy Round. Either way, we probably won't see the device until after the "basic" Note 4 is released.
