Sony has released some new apps to the Google Play store intended for owners of their Xperia devices. The apps make use of the Sony camera to liven up the images that people capture. That is, if you consider adding Ninjas to a photo an example of making things more exciting.
One of the apps is called AR Fun and lets users add a variety of effects and objects to the images they are capturing. If you are familiar with some of the special effects that can be added to Google Hangouts – pirate hats, mustaches, or clown hair for example – then you have an idea of how AR Fun works. Sony's app adds some 3D objects and text objects that can be added to an image while getting the shot ready in the "viewfinder." Sony included their FACE RECOGNITION Technology and SmartAR (augmented reality) in the app so special effects can move with the subjects.
The Ninja application is a plugin for Sony's AR Effect app, the sole purpose of which is to add "Ninja theme content" to AR effects. This includes things like Ninja hoods and weapons as well as other content to create a mythical Ninja scene.
The last of three applications that Sony released is called Sticker Creator. Using this app, users can take a picture they have and cut out and area to turn it into a "sticker." Users can then start up the camera's photo mode with the Sticker Creator running and add the custom stickers they have created to the images they are getting ready to capture.
