Android Wear 5.1.1 Update Now Rolling Out

If you own an Android Wear smartwatch, a new update will soon be coming your way.

Google has announced that Android Wear 5.1.1 is being pushed to several Android Wear smartwatches in the coming days. The ones listed for the update include the LG Watch Urbane, Moto 360, Sony Smartwatch 3 and Samsung Gear Live. However, others have reported that the LG G Watch/R has also received the 5.1.1 update.

This update brings several new features including always-on display for apps running on the watch and WiFi support (finally), which allows the watch to connect to the phone even if a Bluetooth connection is not present. The watches that are guaranteed to get WiFi support are Moto 360, Sony Smartwatch 3 and Samsung Gear Live.
