Details leak on new Google Glass Enterprise Edition

Rumors have been circulating about a new version of Google Glass coming soon, and now 9to5Google has some details on what we can expect from this new version. For starters, internally it's being called Google Glass Enterprise Edition, the successor to the Explorer Edition. The most notable improvement to it is going to be a larger prism for less eye strain when looking at the display. Rather than looking up and right, users can now simply look up.

In addition, the Enterprise Edition will use a new Intel Atom processor that will bring a big performance boost as well as an improvement in battery life. This Atom chip is reportedly clocked faster than any of the chips currently found in Android Wear devices. For those looking for more substantial battery improvements, there's also word going around that Google will offer an external battery pack for those who need to go longer without charging. Finally, it's reported that the Enterprise Edition does indeed support the 5GHz Wi-Fi band, something that was of curiosity after the recent FCC filing.

There's no word on when this new version of Google Glass will be available, but we'll keep you posted with further updates.
