The next big innovation in the smartphone industry could be modular phones and Google is one of the front runners in the new category with Project Ara. Google has already shown off some of their early prototypes and had planned to launch their pilot program in Puerto Rico this year.
Well its seems that they've run into a bit of a hiccup as Google has cancelled the Puerto Rico program and have delayed all programs until at least 2016. According to the Tweets, Google may opt to launch their pilot program in the USA once things are back on track.
Despite the delay, I'm still super excited to see modular phones develop. If Canada gets in on the pilot program it's going to be hard not to throw my money at Google.
