Less than one week after we spotted out first mention of Android 5.1.1, Nexus Player owners can now move up to the still-unannounced update.
The Android 5.1.1 factory image for the Nexus Player is now live on Google's developer website. The update will bump your Android TV device up to build LMY47V, which is a smidge different than the LMY47W and LMY47S builds that were paired with the Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 last week.
If you absolutely have to be on Android 5.1.1 now, you can flash this factory image to your Nexus Player, but you'll wipe your device's data in the process. Of course, it's possible that the official OTA will begin rolling out soon now that the factory image is live, so you could just wait for that. Hopefully we'll hear something about Android 5.1.1 from Google soon.
