Unofficial Google Camera port updated with RAW support and HDR+ customization

Perhaps the best aspect of last year's Google Pixel was the camera, partially thanks to Google's fantastic (but proprietary) HDR+ image processing technology. That feature was limited to Google's own devices, until a developer going by the name 'B-S-G' modified the app to run on most phones with a Snapdragon 820, 821 or 830 processor. For many devices, it was an upgrade over the included camera app, especially for the Essential phone.

Share videos even faster with the latest Google Photos update

When your bandwidth doesn't oblige, sharing videos via Google Photos can be a bit frustrating. Videos are, well, large. And uploading large files can take a while, especially if you're in a congested area, on a throttled connection, or traveling. But now Google Photos has cut down the wait by uploading low-resolution copies for sharing first. And don't worry, your friends won't be stuck with blurry potatoes, those videos are later replaced with high-quality versions.

Unless you've lived under a rock, you should be familiar with Google Photos, which is arguably one of the best products Google ever released.

DoorDash, the food delivery service, adds group orders to its Android app

Ordering food at work or with friends can be a bit of a nightmare. Everyone wants something different, and coordinating everyone can take ages. Thankfully DoorDash has added its group ordering features to the Android app. So the next time your workplace considers delivery or you and your friends have to put together an order for the big game, it'll be a tiny bit easier to coordinate.

The feature was already present on the DoorDash site, so it isn't new, but its appearance on the app is.

[Hands-on] Into the Dead 2, a well made auto-runner that leans heavily on its free-to-play mechanics

Into the Dead 2 is the sequel to PIKPOK's original zombie auto-runner Into the Dead. It takes everything you enjoyed about the first title and adds a ton of polish and a new overarching story that ties together the game's 7 chapters, 60 stages, and hundreds of challenges. And to top it off, you can now equip a canine companion to join you along your journey through a zombie-filled world.

I would like to briefly mention that Into the Dead 2 is a soft-launch title.

OnePlus Phone Concept Fuels Hopes of Bezel-less Design

This year a lot of us were pretty disappointed when we saw the OnePlus 5 arrive with a pretty standard design.

Unlike other manufacturers which have been flocking to jump on board the bezel-less trend, OnePlus decided to stick with the classic approach.

The folks at Techconfigurations have asked themselves: what would the OnePlus 5 have looked like if OnePlus had decided to go for bezel-less? And so they came up with this OnePlus 6 concept.

Yes, it makes sense to assume that the Chinese company will finally make the transition to a more modern design approach with its next flagship and the phone they will end up launching in a few months from now might end up looking a lot like this.

We're told that the concept takes its inspiration from the iPhone X. Its creators also note that in their view, the OnePlus 6 could offer the services of a Snapdragon 845, up to 8GB of RAM, a 19-megapixel dual camera, as well as a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.

We're still far from the OnePlus 6 making a debut on the market, but even so, it does not hurt to dream a little, does it? The Chinese manufacturer will probably launch another flagship in a few months, but chances are it will call it OnePlus 5T and not 6.

Last year, the OnePlus 3 was announced in June and then in November, the Chinese company pulled the wraps off the OnePlus 3T. Will the same scenario happen in 2017? We'll have to wait and see.

Telus Now Offers Visual Voicemail for Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P

Telus this week announced Visual Voicemail is coming to its Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X o Nexus 6P. But it also noted, that more capable devices are coming, probably referring to the next-gen Pixel 2 announcement next week.

What is Visual Voicemail? To make it clear, it doesn't mean your voice messages will now be accompanied by a video, but that you'll be able to check and manage your voicemails easier by reviewing them in a list on your Android phone.

You'll be able to choose which voice message you want to listen to – without having to listen to the annoying instructions or prior messages. You will also be able to rewind.

To add this feature to your eligible device, log in with your Telus account. Also, make sure your device has been updated to the latest Android version – which is Android 8.0 Oreo.

Note that you have to pay for the feature. Adding the visual voicemail add-on at Telus will cost you $5/month and allows you to simultaneously store up to 25 messages.

Visual voicemail is a feature which has been available ever since Android 6.0 Marshmallow in 2015. Ever since Telus customers have been avidly requested the feature. Two years later, the carrier finally complied.

Google may be building an Amazon Echo Show competitor

Amazon's Echo Show stands out from other smart speaker devices thanks to its large touchscreen, but it may soon stand out a little less because according to a report from TechCrunch, Google is working on a similar device.

Reportedly codenamed "Manhattan," sources say the Google device will have a screen that measures in at around seven inches, just like the Echo Show. The new smart speaker will have the standard Google package on board, including YouTube, Google Assistant, the ability to control smart home devices, and support for video calls.

What's more, this new smart speaker will apparently be running Android on board, which will make it easier for developers to create new apps.

Interestingly, Google apparently originally planned to launch the new Google Home sometime in mid-2018, but apparently the Echo Show has caused some internal pressure to get Manhattan out before the end of 2017. The report indicates that while Google is aiming for a launch before the end of the year, it may still arrive in 2018 anyway. There's no word on pricing just yet, but you can guess about the price of Google's Echo Show competitor in the comments below.

Would you pick up a Google Home-style device with a touchscreen?

Sometimes an otherwise perfect hardware experience is ruined by a bit of bad software. Launchers can make or break your phone experience, and a lot of OEMs continue to ship otherwise fantastic phones with a lackluster homescreen. Thanks to the fine folks at TeslaCoil Software, though, that's no problem. Nova Launcher is always there to provide a pleasant, performant, and customizable experience. The Prime version of the app is usually $5, but we've teamed up with TeslaCoil Software to give 50 lucky readers a free code.

In a recent video list, we admitted that Nova Launcher is one of our favorites, and there are a lot of reasons for that.
