Well, the handset showed up in Geekbench as the Huawei MHA with Android 8.0 Oreo on board, suggesting the Chinese company will soon be ready to begin the launch. The Huawei Mate 9 will soon be replaced by company upcoming flagship the Mate 10, which should launch with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Word on the street has it the Chinese tech giant is gearing up to unveil the phone on October 16, but the phone won't become immediately available. We assume Huawei will start offering the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Mate 9 after sales of the new Mate 10 begin. The Huawei Mate 9 is currently available in Canada to form a number of retailers. The phone comes with a primary dual camera setup developed in partnership with photography giant Leica. The device also offers the services of Amazon's Alexa assistant and can be purchased in several colorurs including Space Gray, Ceramic White, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown and Moonlight Silver.
