Google's upcoming Home Mini speaker recently leaked in the wild ahead of the October 4 unveil, but this week we received word that the Mountain View-based company is working on a Max version, as well. The information was shared by 9to5Google which talked to two industry insiders familiar with Google's plans. According to them, the device, which is dubbed internally the Google Home Max and might land on the market under a different name, will be a more premium product. We're told the speaker will be built of premium materials and will feature stereo speakers. It's expected the Home Max will compete with products like the Sonos Play:3 which caters more to audiophiles. While Google unveiling the Home Max during its Pixel 2 event is certainly a possibility, this might not end up happening as the development status of this new product is currently unknown. Google is expected to take the stage in a few days and launch its next-generation flagships, one which will be made by HTC (which recently signed an agreement with Google), while the other will be made by LG. Alongside the phones, we also expect a new re-designed Daydream View headset, as well as the Home Mini speaker, an alternative to the Amazon Echo Dot.
