On April 20, Sony quietly announced the Xperia Z4 in Japan. Now, if a new leak pans out, the company could have yet another smartphone set to arrive at some point down the road.
The leak, which was recently found on a Chinese site, shows off a smartphone that offers a pretty thick frame but manages to cram quite a bit into the compact handset with thin bezels. As noted by GSMArena, though, the render and information tacked onto it could be nothing more than a smartphone created by a fan of Sony, so take the information with a grain of salt for now.
The specs reveal a smartphone that boasts impressive specifications with a continued focus on the camera. The Xperia P2 will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch TRILUMINOS display with a resolution of 1920×1080. Under the hood, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor apparently downclocked to 1.9GHz will power the show. There will also be 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, but there's no mention of a microSD card slot. The battery will reportedly be measured in at 4240mAh.
The camera on the back is said to be a 12MP shooter, featuring a Sony G OSS lens, essentially meaning optical image stabilization will be on board. It'll boast a dual-LED design as well.
It would stand to reason it's running Android 5.0 Lollipop as well, as the image above indicates. When this phone might get announced, or if it's even a real device to begin with, still remains to be seen. If it is the real deal, what do you think of the Xperia P2?
