With the G5, LG didn't exactly break any records. Granted, the phone is a decent device which offers a taste of modularity for people who were excited about the prospect of a Project Ara phone, but customers didn't really take to it.
Now LG is currently working on the successor of the G5, which is known in the rumor mill as the G6. The phone will probably make a debut during the Korea Electronics Show in October and LG hopes its next-gen flagship will be more on users' tastes.
A report coming out of the Korean Herald sheds some light on the upcoming LG G6. According to the current here say the LG G6 could end up featuring iris scanner. It means LG's next-gen flagship will offer a feature reminiscent the dearly departed Galaxy Note7.
Additionally, LG seems it is interested in jumping onboard the mobile payments system bandwagon. According to word on the street, the LG G6 will probably come equipped with a service akin to Samsung Pay. We could call it LG Pay at the moment.
Other device makers might also soon make the same plunge as well. Xiaomi's rumored Mi 5c is supposed to feature NFC, so maybe the phone will offer a similar service, lets call it Mi Pay.
Going back to the upcoming LG G6, the Korean Herald notes the phone will take advantage of a removable battery due to "issues of safety and yields" – obviously hinting towards the Galaxy Note7 debacle.
