Back in April Google launched stand-alone versions of its Docs, Sheets and Slides apps, allowing users to edit files easily even without an active connection to the net. After taking this new direction, it was only a matter of time before Google killed off QuickOffice, which it had originally bought in 2012.
As expected, the day has arrived. Google has managed to integrate much of QuickOffice's functionality into its own office suite, and so they have announced that the QuickOffice app is being pulled from Google Play (and iOS's AppStore) within the next few weeks.
This move won't affect those that already have QuickOffice installed, though Google encourages folks to drop the suite in favor of Google's own stand-alone productivity apps. Still hanging on to QuickOffice? If so, what's keeping you from ditching the app suite completely?
