The Moga controller series was a big hit when they first hit Android. Despite being a little expensive, they brought a solid, stable controller option to Android with a few fun features that other controllers didn't have. If you picked one up, no doubt that your next adventure was finding games that had compatibility. Here are the best Android games for the Moga Controller.
Asphalt 8: Airbourne
[Price: Free with in app purchases]
First up is the very popular Asphalt 8: Airborne. It was one of the earlier games to get Moga Controller support and still one of the best ones to date. It has above average graphics, fun game mechanics, and the game is free to play with in app purchases. There are some that would argue that you get more control if you use the accelerometer and that may be true but playing with a controller just feels right.
The Bard's Tale
[Price: $1.99]
RPGs are among the game genres on Android where controllers can make controlling the game monumentally easier. The Bard's Tale is arguably one of the best RPGs ever to be released on Android and it does have Moga Controller support. It's a full size RPG with decent graphics and a long story line. It also has things like Google Play Games services, including achievements. It's $1.99 and you can download either the HD version or the SD version if the HD version is too big. For RPG fans, it's definitely worth it.
Dead Trigger 2
[Price: Free with in app purchases]
Much like RPGs, shooters are another genre that benefit greatly from the use of a controller. Granted, they're still better yet with a keyboard/mouse combo but a controller is still wildly more manageable than touch screen controls. Dead Trigger 2 is among the hallmark shooters to have Moga Controller support. It comes complete with hours of zombie killing fun, great graphics, and it's free to play (with in app purchases). When it comes to mowing down zombies, there aren't many options that stack up to Dead Trigger 2.
Emulators
[Price: Varies]
Out of every option on this list, emulators make the most sense. No matter which console emulator you go with, all of those games were meant to be played with controllers. There are plenty out there and the button below will take you to our list of the best Android emulators so you can choose from there. In many cases, touch screen controls get the job done but especially in action/adventure games, platformers, and shooters, controllers make a huge difference. Most emulators will work with Moga but you may need to test upon purchasing so you can get a refund before the refund time runs out!
Grand Theft Auto series
[Price: $2.99-$3.99]
Rockstar Games has done a great job of porting their older Grand Theft Auto games to Android. The graphics and game play mechanics remain pretty much untarnished with the only changes consisting of making the games work on touch screen devices. They also have Moga Controller support which should make these games a lot more fun to play. They feature long story lines, sandbox play (so you can go goof off if you want), and a strong and loyal following. They're also pretty inexpensive and that only makes it better.
Meganoid 1 and 2
[Price: Free/$2.54 and Free/$2.57]
The Meganoid series is a retro, 8-bit platformer where you must avoid obstacles, jump platforms, and the like in order to save the world. Both games comes with Moga Controller support and both have a free and paid version. The free version has ads and the paid version does not. It isn't the graphic titan that some of the previous games on this list are but it makes up for it with pure mixture of simplicity and difficulty.
Modern Combat 5: Blackout
[Price: $6.99]
Well there's no way anyone didn't see this one coming. One of the best shooting franchises on Android does, in fact, have Moga Support and there are many who would argue that the game really isn't truly fun until you're playing it with a controller. There is a story line, multiplayer mode, and it's all presented with high quality graphics. It's a tad on the pricy side and there are those who claim that Modern Combat 4 is better (it also has Moga support), but it's still a fantastic shooter.
NOVA 3 – Near Orbit
[Price: $6.99 with in app purchases]
NOVA 3 Near Orbit is another excellent shooter on Android but this one takes a more sci-fi spin. Much like how Modern Combat is Android's Call of Duty, NOVA is Android's Halo. It has above average graphics and your standard shooter game mechanics. It also has a lot of sci-fi elements and a decent story line. It also has Moga Controller support. It's a tad pricy like Modern Combat but the best shooters usually are a little expensive.
Reaper
[Price: Free with in app purchases]
Reaper is a beautifully done 2D action RPG where you play as a pale swordsman. The mechanics are hack'n'slash style so it's not difficult to grasp the basics and most things in the game result in fantastical waves of color and enjoyment. There are also things like swords and abilities to unlock as well as a story to play so really this game has everything. It's free to play with in app purchases and Moga Controller support is one of its features.
Riptide GP2
[Price: $1.99 with in app purchases]
Riptide GP2 is arguably the most unique racing game on the list. Instead of cars, you race wave runners. Along with having some great graphics and a unique trick/boost system, you'll also have to deal with ever-changing water currents that could slow you down or speed you up. It's been a long time favorite in the Android Authority news room and it also supports Moga.
The Shadowgun series
[Price: Varies]
All titles that are part of the Shadowgun series have Moga support. For those who don't know, Shadowgun is a shooter with the realism elements of Modern Combat with a little sci-fi like NOVA and is a great game for those who want something between those two. There are several titles including Shadowgun: DeadZone which focuses on online multiplayer and the regular Shadowgun game which is more based on story. The graphics are really good and it's done by MADFINGER Games who also did Dead Trigger so you know this is going to be good.
Sonic the Hedgehog
[Price: Varies]
Sega has been aggressively bringing Sonic to Android so that he might live again as the icon that he once was on the Sega Genesis. So far it's working because most of their Sonic titles are pretty good and a decent number of them also support the Moga Controller. This includes Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, the original games for the Genesis that have been revamped with Google Play Games achievements and touch screen support. The prices vary by game but fans of the world's fastest hedgehog will have no problem forking out a couple of bucks for nostalgia.
Terraria.
[Price: Free / $4.99 with in app purchases]
Last up is Terraria which is essentially a 2D platformer mixed with most of the elements of Minecraft. It sports retro graphics, boss fights, the ability to craft items, and dig for resources. It does have Moga Controller support and there is also a free version that you can try out. The developer has also been active recently by including some seasonal items and if that trend continues then you'll also get more content every so often.
