AMP Bank has today announced it will offer NFC mobile payments for customers through Host Card Emulation (HCE) on Android compatible handsets.
The move is marked by a handful of banks which have stepped on board using HCE technologies to drive mobile payments on customers' smartphones, enabling them to effectively turn them into mobile wallets.
HCE is compatible with all Android handsets running KitKat 4.4 or later and much like tap to pay methods, allows customers to make payments on their mobile of up to $100 in value without a PIN requirement through NFC as you would with a tap and pay card.
