It's hard to believe the Google's Chromecast streaming device has been around for around two years, but it has and today Google has made official the next generation of Chromecasts.
The new Chromecast video streamer has had a complete design overhaul and now features a single HDMI cable hanging out of its disc-shaped body, unlike the separate HDMI and USB cables on the first Chromecast.
It now has support for a wider array of WiFi bands, showing compatibility with 802.11ac WiFi along with dual-band 2.4/5GHz. A new antenna setup means the Chromecast is now always performing at its best and maintaining a strong WiFi connection for reduced buffering and an overall more enjoyable experience in turn.
