Here Are Some Features That Won’t Be Found On The New Nexus’

We've seen some pretty extensive spec lists for both the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P so we have a pretty good idea of what they have to offer and now thanks to some more leaks from Android Police we also know what they will not offer.  There are three features that many of us have come to expect on flagship devices that will not be making their way on the new Nexus smartphones.

The first omission is one we had already suspected due to the build materials of the Nexus 6P and that is wireless charging.  Neither the Nexus 6P nor the Nexus 5X will allow for the convenient charging method.  This is definitely an odd omission as wireless charging has been present in Nexus' for several generations now.

Secondly, the Nexus' will not have microSD card slots.  This omission is much less surprising as Google has been pushing for the adoption of cloud storage for quite some time now.  What is a little odd, however, is that Google has improved the ability of Android to take advantage of expandable storage in Marshmallow so many thought we might see the handy little feature return this year.  It appears that it's just not to be.

Lastly, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will not have optical image stabilizers on their cameras.  Word is that the lack of OIS is tied to the use of the new camera sensor which sport some pretty impressive 1.55µm pixels.  Even with the lack of OIS, this should translate to some decent low light photos.

Is the lack of any of these features a deal breaker for you?
