Canadian Galaxy S7 Benchmarked With Exynos 8890

For years, Samsung has exclusively used Qualcomm-designed silicon in the North American market for their flagship Galaxy phones, with the exception of the Note 2, but it looks like the international Galaxy S7 might not be the only variant using the SoC.

SM-G930W8

According to an Antutu benchmark result page, specs for a Samsung Galaxy S7 with version number SM-G930W8 (W8 is intended for the Canadian market) list an Exynos 8890 clocked at 1.59 GHz. We all know both variants will come with the same memory, but it looks like the single core scores of the chip are beat by the Snapdragon 820.

As for the multi core score, this is where the Exynos 8890 shines, but looking at this from a "day to day use" standpoint, the Snapdragon 820 will deliver better performance.

The phone is expected to be unveiled during Mobile World Congress next month.
