BlackBerry is all about Android these days with the PRIV leading the charge. The company hasn't forgotten about BBM, though. The app has gotten a few significant updates since it came out, and today there's another major one with better notification control, proper support for Marshmallow permissions, and more. Plus, all privacy and control features are no longer behind the paywall.
Here's the changelog for the new version.
- All Privacy and Control features are now FREE – Timed messages & photos, Retract, Private Chat, and Edit
- Forward messages from one chat to another
- Ability to mute notifications for a multi-person chat
- Scroll through all pictures shared within a 1:1 or multi-person chat
- Choose if you want pictures taken within BBM chats saved to your device
- Improved BBM Voice call quality
- Marshmallow (Android 6.0) support
- Performance improvements and bug fixes
The new free messaging features are a big deal if you are a casual user of BBM.
