Android N may be getting redesigned navigation buttons

There are quite a few changes coming to Android N later this year, and if one report is accurate, the on-screen navigation buttons could be included in those changes.

According to a source speaking with Android Police, Google plans on revamping the navigation buttons in Android N. The buttons will be completely white, and the source says that Google will make the new circle animated, with green, red, blue, and yellow highlights. Long-pressing it will see the animation start, which currently activates Google Now on Tap.

As it stands, the details around these new navigation buttons are still light. We don't know if the new buttons will be available for all Android N devices or if the change will only be available to future Nexus devices. Still, the new navigation buttons will make Android N interesting, along with the inclusion of split-screen apps, a new notification shade, and plenty of other additions.

What do you think of the new buttons?
