HTC is expected to launch not one, but two different Nexus-branded smartphones this year. We've seen the rumored specs for both handsets already, but one question has lingered: What will the devices look like?
Thanks to information provided to Android Police, that question may be answered now, too. AP able to ascertain details regarding both handsets and put together a render of what both devices will probably look like. The two upcoming handsets are said to boast plenty of the same features, with differently-sized displays and batteries being the main differences, so building one render for both should work.
The Sailfish and Marlin are said to feature an aluminum design, with a distinct back section that's said to be either glossy plastic or glass. On top of that, the back edges of the handsets will have a gentle curve, which should make them easier to hold. We can also see that the rear camera is flush with the back of the handset, which differs from the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P and their rear camera bumps.
The fingerprint reader from the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P is there on the back of the Sailfish/Marlin, and there's a distinct "G" logo near the bottom edge. However, it's unclear whether or not the Nexus branding will be present in the final model.
The dark gray and black model will apparently be accompanied by a version with a silver aluminum frame and white front, along with an "electric blue" model with a blue back and a white front. That model might not be released to the public, though.
This design is certainly distinct, so it will be interesting to see if this is indeed the final model. What do you think? Will this be your next daily driver?
