| Not so long ago we told you WhatsApp was testing video calling in beta. Well now it seems the messaging app is officially rolling out the stable feature to users around the world. Video calling for WhatsApp is now live in Canada as Android and iOS apps have been updated. To get to use the feature just access your Contacts list and there should be a new Call icon next to the regular calling one. Just tap it and you should be connected to the other party. In the official launch statement, WhatsApp says Video calling has been the most requested user feature, so the company finally obliged, although it took its sweet time to do so. WhatsApp made a point in saying that it wants all users to take advantage of the new feature, even if they are on a slower connection or own an older device. The optimized feature will boost WhatsApp's appeal in emerging markets like India or Brazil, where users heavily rely on the free messaging app. WhatsApp's video calling feature was long overdue, with the competition being ahead already. Apple has been offering its popular FaceTime feature for a while, while Skype has this option available.
