The spec race has reached a point where most devices now use the same hardware. All we've seen recently are Snapdragon 801 processors, 1080p displays that measure around 5 inches, Sony camera sensors and so on. Samsung is trying to differentiate itself with features and HTC is doing the same with build quality, but Motorola has taken a different path. The company released its Moto X with a unique Motorola X8 chip that included a dual-core processor as well as two special cores for voice recognition and contextual computing. It was a very different approach to building a smartphone.
The Moto X ended up placing pretty high on most everyone's list of favorite devices. Sure, it had its flaws, but the features that it brought to the table were legitimately revolutionary. This is why we're so excited for the successor to the Moto X. The good news is that, according to a recent tweet from Motorola, this successor is coming in the late summer!
Q from twitter: When is next version of Moto X? A: Keep posted – hint – late summer. #MotoMWC

On my wishlist for the next Moto X is much-improved camera, a slightly larger display with thin bezels, more customization options, a Galaxy Note-sized model and a hydro-dynamic spatula. Tell us what you'd like to see Motorola include with the next Moto X in the comments!
