When HTC announced the HTC One (M8) earlier this year, they indicated they were putting in place a new policy to keep older devices updated for at least a two-year period. This meant their new Sense 6 UI layer would eventually rollout to owners of the HTC One (M7). In April HTC announced the update was being pushed out to carriers and should be certified for delivery before the end of May. Both T-Mobile and Verizon have already started rolling out the update over the past couple weeks. Now owners on the Sprint network can breath a sigh of relief as it is their turn to get the new version.
As with the other carriers, the update is all about the UI layer and not the underlying version of Android. Users will get all of the new features of Sense 6 along with the new Blinkfeed, Camera Gallery and TV App. The update is rolling out in stages starting today. Users can manually check to see if it is available for them by going to Settings -> System updates -> HTC software update -> Check now.
This leaves only AT&T users still waiting for the carrier to certify the update and start pushing it out to customers on their network.
