IFA is going to be big. We already expect to see some hot new hardware from Samsung, Sony and others, and now we've gotten a peek at what the folks at Huawei will have on offer.
Photos of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 have leaked out on Chinese social network Weibo. The images show a large device with some pretty slim side bezels, a squircle camera sensor and what looks to be a fingerprint reader.
Huawei hasn't made any official announcements regarding the Ascend Mate 7, but the rumor mill suggests that it could feature an octa-core Kirin 920 processor, 13-megapixel camera and 6-inch 1080p display. To compare, the Ascend Mate2 features a larger (6.1-inch) but lower-res (720p) screen.
Most of those features are still a rumor, but the fingerprint scanner seems like a pretty safe bet. Huawei has posted a new video teaser for its IFA announcement that includes several references to "Mate" and "7" and shows a fingerprint near the end. You can check the full clip out below.
If the Ascend Mate 7's leaked design and specs hold true, will you be interested in it?
