LG's new G3 may not be the newest or oldest flagship device on the market, but that's not slowing them down any. The manufacturer has just announced a brand new mid-range device that shares quite a few similarities with its high-end cousin.
Announced on Wednesday, October 1, the F60 is LG's newest mid-range device that's headed for several different regions across the globe. The good news, though, is that its releases won't be months apart, as LG has confirmed the handset should land in Europe now and arrive in the United States and Asia later this week.
As far as specifications go, the LG F60 features a 4.5-inch WVGA display, with a pixel per inch count of 207. Underneath the hood there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM. It will come in two variants: 4GB or 8GB of built-in storage. There's a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3-megapixel shooter on the front. The LG F60′s battery is measured at 2,100mAh, and it will run Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box underneath LG's proprietary user interface. It will support 4G LTE and will come in black or white, depending on the market.
LG is also boasting a list of specific functions with the new F60:
"Gesture Shot allows users to take easy selfies by simply opening and closing their hand in front of the lens to start a three-second countdown before the shutter is triggered.
Front Camera Light adds additional illumination to one's face by displaying a bright white light around the preview screen in self-portrait mode.
Touch & Shoot lets users capture those special moments quickly and intuitively with a simple tap anywhere on the display to focus and shoot in one single step.
Knock CodeTM unlocks the F60 in one easy step with a personalized "knock" pattern for both convenience and security."
LG has confirmed the device's launch this week, but pricing has not been made known just yet, not has the carriers the new F60 might launch for in the United States. But it shouldn't be long before announcements are made.
