ASUS Releases New Android 6.0 Marshmallow Timeline For ZenFone Series

For quite some time, ASUS was very quiet on its Android 6.0 Marshmallow rollout for its ZenFone 2 variants, until now.

ASUS has posted an announcement on its ZenTalk forum regarding its Marshmallow rollout. The ZenFone 2 and all its variants are now expected to get the update by Q2 2016 (April to June). The phones getting this update are as follows:

PadFone S (PF500KL)
ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML)
ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML)
ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML)
ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL)
ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL)
ZenFone Max (ZC550KL)
ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML)

The company has also announced the removal of three ASUS apps in favour of Google's. "Google Messenger, Calendar, and Gmail apps will automatically be included… these apps will replace three ZenUI apps—ASUS Messenger, ASUS Mail and ASUS Calendar".
