HTC is now accepting pre-orders for the HTC Vive. For $799, you get the Vive head-mounted display, two motion controllers, two laser tracking base stations, link box and a pair of earbuds in addition to three VR titles (Tilt Brush by Google, Fantastic Contraption and Job Simulator). The price does not include shipping or taxes. Those pre-ordering the HTC Vive in Europe or the UK will have to shell out €899 and £689, respectively, but those prices do include local VAT charges.
It may not be directly related to Android, but the Vive is a critical new product for HTC and will likely shape the future of VR development over the next few years. If the HTC Vive is a commercial success, it will be the first product in HTC's portfolio that is not tied to a smartphone is some way.
Let us know in the comments if you're planning on buying the HTC Vive.
