Google is celebrating My Account’s birthday with new features

With security threats on the rise, Google has continued to place a larger emphasis on privacy and security controls for users of its products. One of the steps it took last year was to introduce My Account, a hub for security and privacy controls related to a user's Google account. Today, My Account is celebrating its first birthday and Google is adding some new features as part of the festivities.

The most notable new feature is the "Find Your Phone" feature of My Account. Previously, users could do this through the Android Device Manager, but integrating it into My Account makes it less complex and streamlines security. Users can locate their phone, lock it, call it, secure their Google account, leave a callback number on the screen and more. Soon, users will even be able to search "I lost my phone" in Google and the options will arise. This feature is available to both Android and iOS users.

Another change is that My Account is now even easier to access. In the latest version of the Google app, users can simply say "Ok Google, show me my Google account," to view their My Account page. Additionally, users will soon be able to search their own name in Google and quickly find a link to My Account.

This is a great little update for My Account that makes it even more useful, continuing to simplify security for users.

Are you excited for the changes in this update?
