We've endured the wait for a major software update, hoping and praying that today is the day that it finally arrives. Samsung Galaxy S5 owners on Verizon can now rejoice, as the carrier has begun pushing the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update out to users. Wondering what you'll find in this update? Here are some of the highlights.
- Now On Tap: the contextual version of Google Now
- Doze: a battery-saving feature for when your phone isn't in use
- Individual app permission controls: grant specific permissions and refuse others
- Wi-Fi Calling
- Updated TouchWiz UI
- Ultra High Quality Audio
- Android for Work support
While there's no major design overhaul, this update brings in a number of small, but useful features. Galaxy S5 users should enjoy Wi-Fi Calling in particular, as it's a feature that Verizon has been rolling out to smartphones for some time now. The update is now rolling out to users as an OTA update, but it may be a few days before you see it on your device. Be patient, it'll arrive soon.
Any Galaxy S5 users on Verizon seeing the update yet?
