Xiaomi Mi Box could cost less than $100 and arrive in the U.S. soon

Back in May of this year, Xiaomi's Hugo Barra officially took the wraps off the Mi Box and confirmed that the 4K Android TV set-top box would launch in the United States "soon." Now a report from TechCrunch states that Xiaomi could be gearing up to launch the Mi Box soon, and that it could cost less than $100.

The report states information gleaned from a Xiaomi source, who said that Xiaomi will launch the Mi Box in the U.S. and other regions in "early Q4 2016." That would cover October to December, so the new 4K set-top box could arrive as soon as next month.

As a refresher, the Mi Box offers 8GB of built-in storage, 2GB of RAM, and there's a quad-core processor tucked inside as well. It supports output of 4K at 60 frames per second, there are USB 2.0 and HDMI ports on the back, and the Bluetooth remote control will offer support for voice commands.

Do you plan on picking up the Mi Box when it becomes available?
