Motorola planning to release a smartwatch sometime this year

Motorola already has a history with smartwatches, but none of them ever gained any serious popularity. They were mostly made for fitness and ran full Android, which was impressive. Unfortunately, they were plagued with bugs at release. The bugs were fixed a few months later, but the damage was done and people no longer purchased them (though the latest model remains a good buy).

But according to one of Motorola's latest tweets in a series of questions and answers, the company is working on a smartwatch for release sometime this year. Motorola is focusing on style and battery life, which are what they claim to be consumer issues with the smartwatch category. With the new Samsung Gear 2 and the Samsung Gear Fit announced yesterday, the smartwatch competition is getting hot. We're hoping Motorola releases something truly awesome. And after the Moto X and Moto G, we have faith in them.

There are no real details on the watch other than that, so we'll have to wait and see what Motorola will do with it. But with its advancements in Touchless Control and gestures on the Moto X, this could be revolutionary in the watch market. Would you buy a Motorola smartwatch, and what do you want to see from it? Tell us in the comments!
