One month after Google released the first Android 8.1 Developer Preview, a new update has been unleashed. Google is now rolling out Android 8.1 Developer Preview 2. This update is also the final Android 8.1 Developer Preview, with the public release planned for December. Android 8.1 Developer Preview 2 is available to the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 5X. If you're in the Android Beta Program, you should see the OTA update hit your device in the next few days. Perhaps the most notable new feature of this Android 8.1 DP2 update is the inclusion of the Pixel Visual Core. With it, third-party camera app developers can utilize the Pixel Visual Core, enabling them to add HDR+ support to their apps. This update also includes Google's latest optimizations and bug fixes, official APIs (API level 27), and the November 2017 security patches. Android 8.1 also offers accelerated on-device machine intelligence thanks to the Neural Networks API and optimizations for Android Go for devices with 1GB of RAM or less. Be sure to let us know when the Android 8.1 Developer Preview 2 update hits your phone! Android Match
