So long, Google Wallet. Hello, Android Pay.
At Google I/O, Google has finally detailed its long anticipated Android Pay mobile payment system for Android. Android Pay will effectively replace Google Wallet serving as a hub for debit, credit and loyalty cards. Android has already partnered with a ton of both physical (using NFC) and in-app (using "Buy with Android Pay") partners including Best Buy, Whole Foods, Uber, Lyft, Eat 24 and more.
Android Pay will be supported by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon right out of the gate, and will be compatible with any Android phone running KitKat or higher. According to Google, Android Pay should be available soon. We'll be sure to let you know when it's live in Google Play.
