Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, and Pebble Core are now official

Pebble has been a company focused on the wearable market for quite some time now, and yesterday they teased a big announcement for today. Turns out they were actually teasing three new things.

The company has officially announced the Pebble 2, the Pebble Time 2, and the Pebble Core. As you can probably guess from the names, the first two devices are true successors to previously launched wearables, while the Pebble Core is a brand new product.

Pebble Time 2

The Pebble 2 features an e-paper display, a built-in microphone, tracking for activity and sleep, a heart rate monitor, and the device is water resistant up to 30 meters. Pebble says the smartwatch has a battery that can last seven days, too. As for the Pebble Time 2, its display is 53% bigger than what's equipped on the Pebble 2 and it boasts color e-paper technology. You get the same activity and fitness tracking that was mentioned with the Pebble 2, but the Pebble Time 2′s battery can last 10 days.

Pebble Core

The Pebble Core has a multifunction design, as Pebble declares it's a product for both runners and hackers. For runners, the Core is a running companion, built with GPS support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and even 3G conenctivity that Pebble says you can use to stream Spotify. It also offers 4GB of built-in storage. There's a wireless charging pad that Pebble put together for the Core, and the company says the battery will last five and a half hours.

For the hackers, Pebble says the Core is essentially a small computer running Android 5.0. With that in mind, it can be tweaked to do other things, like track a pet, call an Uber with just a click, and much more. Pebble plans on working with developers to truly flesh out the possibilities of the Core.

The Pebble 2 is expected to ship beginning in September of this year. It's available right now for an early backer's price of $99, but it will shoot up to $129 once it launches to the public. The wearable will come in Aqua, Black, White, Flame, and Lime colors.

The Pebble Time 2, on the other hand, will ship beginning in November of this year, and has an early bird price tag of $179, with a retail price of $199. It's available in Black, Silver, and Gold with a stainless steel body.

Finally, the Pebble Core will come in Black or White, and early backer price is set at $69, with the full retail price planned to be $99. It begins shipping in January of next year.

Each of the devices can be backed on Pebble's official Kickstarter page. As of the time of this writing, there are already 7,264 backers that have pledged $1,332,055 of a $1,000,000 goal. The Kickstarter project ends in 36 days.

So, what do you think of Pebble's new products?
