Samsung not giving up on Android Wear after all, though that’s not saying much

Samsung's first and last Android-powered smartwatch was the Gear Live, which launched alongside Android Wear itself. Ever since, Samsung's watches and wearables have been powered by its in-house Tizen operating system.

Fast Company concluded that Samsung was done with Android Wear, but that doesn't seem to be true. Samsung responded to the claim saying that no such decision has been made, though that doesn't mean Samsung will be using Android Wear anytime soon.

"We disagree with Fast Company's interpretation. Samsung has not made any announcement concerning Android Wear and we have not changed our commitment to any of our platforms."

Android Wear has quickly grown and become very popular, on top of being far more functional and useful with the many updates that have been released so far. Android Wear 2.0 looks even more promising. Maybe Samsung will revisit the software with hardware people will actually want to buy (the Gear S2 is quite good-looking).
