Android 7.1.2 factory images and OTA files are now available

After a couple of beta releases, it looks like Google has deemed Android 7.1.2 ready for public consumption.

Google today posted the Android 7.1.2 factory images and OTA files for the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, and Nexus Player. These updates also include the April 2017 security patches.

The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 are excluded from the list above because Google confirmed earlier this year that neither device will receive an update to Android 7.1.2. They are getting the April 2017 security patches, though.

Now that these factory images and OTA files have been posted, we should see the updates actually rolling out over the air shortly. So if you don't feel like manually flashing Android 7.1.2, keep an eye on your device over the coming days.

Even though Android 7.1.2 is an x.x.1 release, it still includes a few notable user-facing features. For example, the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are getting a "Swipe for notifications" move that'll let them check their notifications by swiping down on their phones' fingerprint readers, while the Pixel C is receiving the Pixel Launcher.
