Tablets were quick to take off, but also quick to plateau. Though the market for tablets isn't growing, there remains a steady demand for these larger devices, particularly in family settings. Manufacturers have shifted to reflect this change, with Samsung maintaining a strong presence in the field. Today, the Korean tech giant is introducing another addition to its lineup, the 2017 Galaxy Tab A, an 8-inch family-friendly tablet. The display features a relatively low resolution of 1280×800, which is lower than many tablets of its size. Powering the Galaxy Tab A is a Snapdragon 425 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot. An 8-megapixel camera resides on the rear of the device, with a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter that's perfect for video calls. Samsung is promising 14 hours of battery life with a 14,000mAh battery that's charged via a USB-Type C port. The Galaxy Tab A will be available for $229.99 in two color options of Black and Silver, with retail sales beginning on November 1. Samsung is packing the device with a variety of software including Kids Mode, Samsung Kids, Game Launcher, Parental Controls, and three free months of YouTube Red. If you had any doubt that this is a tablet designed for family use, the software seals the deal. For more information, check out Samsung's press release at the source link below. Android Match
