OnePlus 5T unlikely to feature annoying ‘jelly’ scrolling issue

The OnePlus 5 had a "jelly" scrolling effect that bugged a lot of users. It was due to an inverted display panel, meaning it was refreshing from bottom to top rather than the regular top to bottom. A kernel flag that flips the software on the display was a clear sign of this.

The kernel source for the newly announced OnePlus 5T has already been released and there is no such flag for flipping the software orientation. This likely means that the jelly scrolling issue is a thing of the past. Despite OnePlus insisting that the jelly scrolling was not a defect, it was obviously important enough to fix in the new version of the device.

If the scrolling effect bothered you on the previous model, the 5T shouldn't exhibit the same behavior. Of course we won't know for sure until the device is in people's hands, but it's a pretty safe bet.
