Google Home can now speak Spanish

Google Assistant has spoken Spanish for quite some time, but it hasn't been an officially supported language with the Google Home lineup of smart speakers. That is finally changing today.

Google has announced that the Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max now officially support Spanish in the United States, Mexico, and Spain. Google is also launching the Home and Home Mini in Mexico today.

Technically speaking, support for Spanish started rolling out a couple of weeks ago. And earlier this month, the Google Home and Home Mini officially launched in Spain, where Spanish was supported out of the gate. But wider adoption took a bit longer to actually launch.

To change the language support on your Google Home smart speaker, you will need to open the Menu in the Google Home app, open Preferences in the Settings section, then select Español. Once you do that, you will be able to ask about your day by saying, "Ok Google, ¿cómo será mi día?" You can also learn more about the ongoing World Cup by asking "Ok Google, ¿cuándo juega México?"

Now that Spanish is officially supported on the Google Home smart speakers, it should be a welcomed addition for the device owners.
