Sprint offers high-speed video and music streaming with Unlimited Freedom Premium

It's been one week since Sprint officially launched its new Unlimited Freedom plan, which introduced truly unlimited talk, text, and data every month, but with some caveats. The standard Unlimited Freedom plan sacrifices high-definition video content and caps streamed music and video games. Apparently Sprint was listening to feedback, though, because the Now Network has a brand new plan to accommodate those who want HD content with their unlimited data.

The new plan is Unlimited Freedom Premium, and as the name suggests, subscribers will pay a premium for unlimited high-speed video, music, and games. Specifically, Unlimited Freedom Premium subscribers can stream unlimited HD video (up to 1080p+), music (up to 1.5Mbps), and games (up to 8Mbps). The plan also includes unlimited talk, text, and high-speed data.

As a refresher, the standard Unlimited Freedom plan (which is still available, and can be mixed-and-matched with the Unlimited Freedom Premium plan on a family account) caps video at 480p, music at 500kbps, and games at 2Mbps.

Pricing for Unlimited Freedom Premium is $20 more per month per line than what the standard Unlimited Freedom plan costs. That means the first line is $80 per month, and customers can get two lines for $140 per month. Sprint says that for a limited time, anyone who signs up for Unlimited Freedom Premium can get it free through October 31, 2016.

What do you think of Sprint's new Unlimited Freedom Premium option? Do you plan on signing up?
