Patent trolls are a big issue in the technology world. They buy patents and sue others to earn money rather than selling a product. There are also more legitimate lawsuits happening in the Android world, so Google has been working hard to protect those who make Android devices. The latest step is the Android Networked Cross-License Agreement. Google calls it PAX, which means "peace" in Latin. PAX members share relevant patents for free to encourage innovation and protect from lawsuits. Any company making Android devices is free to join with Samsung, LG, HTC, Foxconn, and more already part of the group. This isn't the first of such agreements Google has been a part of, but it's just another step towards patent peace in the industry. Android Match
