| During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon offered significant discounts on its Echo and Echo Dot smart speakers. If you missed out on those deals, though, you've now got another chance to get 'em. Amazon is now running a sale on its Echo and Echo Dot. This means that you can get a discount on the brand new Echo (2nd Gen.) that just launched a few months ago as well as the miniature Echo Dot.
Also of note is that for a limited time, you can purchase an Echo (2nd Gen.) or Echo Dot and get a TP-Link Smart Plug for $5. The TP-Link Smart Plug lets you turn electronics on and off using your smartphone or your Echo device, and you can also schedule it to power devices on and off. The new Echo (2nd Gen.) offers improved sound, says Amazon, as well as a new design that's shorter than the original Echo. You can choose from a number of different shells for your Echo, including colorful fabrics and a wood veneer. The Echo (2nd Gen.) also offers Bluetooth connectivity, 360-degree sound, and Amazon's Alexa assistant with a wide range of skills.
