Essential continues to stay in step with Google when it comes to Android updates. While other phones participating in the Android P developer preview program typically have to wait for the manufacturer to adapt the latest release from Google to their phones, Essential releases its versions on the same day. Today is one of those days! Google has released the latest version of Android P, dubbed Developer Preview 5 and Essential releases its own adaptation dubbed Android P Beta 3 just hours later. This update contains Google's latest code for Android P, which is very close to final release code and contains all final APIs, as well as minor bug fixes. Despite being an opt-in beta, the last version was perfectly stable and we expect this one to be be more of the same. If you're on a previous Android P beta, you should see an OTA to get the Beta 3. If you're still on Oreo, you'll have to flash this build or wait for the final release. Great work keeping up with Google, Essential! Android Match
