Every month, Google updates those interested in the state of Android, showcasing just how much of the market is taken up by each version of the mobile platform. For the period ending June 1, Google showcases yet another month where the company's latest public release, Lollipop, continues to grow.
Android 5.1, the newest release, is now resting at 0.8 percent, which means it climbed from 0.7 percent in May. Combine that with the 11.6 percent of Android 5.0, and Android Lollipop is now at 12.4 percent. The version just before Lollipop, Android 4.4 KitKat, sank a little this month, down to 39.2 percent. And, Android Jelly Bean, ranging from Android 4.1 to 4.3, fell as well, and now only holds a 37.4 percent of the numbers.
Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, held a total of 5.3 percent in May, but fell to 5.1 percent in June. And, finally, Android 2.3 Gingerbread is now at 5.6 percent, while Android 2.2 Froyo holds 0.3 percent of the pie chart.
