A couple of days ago, Motorola and Verizon officially debuted the DROID Turbo 2, the next high-end smartphone to take up the DROID branding. It packs in quite a few impressive specs along with a display that Motorola calls "shatterproof." Now that device is coming to international markets, too.
In what the manufacturer is dubbing the "#ShortestPressAnnouncementEver," the Moto X Force has been debuted by way of a quick YouTube video showing the device being dropped on a hard surface. As one can expect from a device marketed as shatterproof, the display appears to be fine after picking it up. The outcome was much worse for Apple's iPhone 6s and Samsung's Galaxy S6.
The Moto X Force is exactly the same phone as the DROID Turbo 2, meaning it features a 5.4-inch QHD display, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood, 3GB of RAM, 32GB and 64GB variants, a battery measured in at 3760mAh, and a 21-megapixel camera on the back. There's a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, and it's running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box, but Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming down the line.
There wasn't any mention of an exact launch date or pricing, but Motorola does say that the device will launch in Latin America, APAC and EMEA beginning sometime in November.
