Like many of the large Chinese manufacturers, ZTE hasn't had a lot of success gaining a foothold in the North American market. In my opinion, the main problem has always been the lack of premium devices from these companies. Rather then sending their flagship devices our way, our market has been flooded with pretty sad budget devices. Things are changing, however, and ZTE's latest offering for Canada, the Axon, is another step in the right direction. Here's a run down of the specs:
- 5.5″ 1080p Display
- Snapdragon 801 Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB Internal Storage
- 13MP Camera with 2MP Secondary Camera
- 8MP Front Facing Camera
- 3000 mAh Battery
- Hi-Fi Audio
While the ZTE Axon is not the companies best device, it's definitely a solid offering inside and out. Speaking of the exterior, the ZTE Axon sports a beautiful aluminum body that has its own unique look to it. The back of the device also features a dual-camera set up, not unlike the HTC One M8, that allows you to capture some depth in your photos.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Axon will be heading to Fido for pretty darn reasonable $400 outright and as low as $0 on a 2-year term. The device is expected to hit on November 6 so there isn't too long to wait if you're interested in picking this guy up.
