Now that the Android 7.0 Nougat update has begun rolling out, manufacturers like Sony can start laying the groundwork to update their own devices. And letting customers in on the plans at the same time.
Sony has revealed which of its Xperia devices will be receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Devices like the Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA Ultra make the cut, unsurprisingly, as does the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z5. Here's the full list:
- Xperia Z3+
- Xperia Z4 Tablet
- Xperia Z5
- Xperia Z5 Compact
- Xperia Z5 Premium
- Xperia X
- Xperia XA
- Xperia XA Ultra
- Xperia X Performance
While Sony is sharing the list of devices that will be getting upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat, the company isn't announcing a release timetable yet, so we don't know when these updates will arrive. Sony does say it's "really excited" about the new software, but doesn't go into any detail regarding what changes it might be adding to its devices.
Still, if you have one of Sony's Xperia-branded smartphones that will be getting updated, it's good to hear Android 7.0 Nougat is on the way.
