Adobe Lightroom adds raw HDR capture feature

Adobe has announced that the Lightroom mobile app is getting a big new feature on both Android and iOS. It is now able to shoot RAW HDR.

Now, HDR isn't particularly special as most phones come with built in HDR. But Lightroom takes three separate shots and creates a composite RAW file which, unlike JPG, will take well to editing. RAW images contain much more data and can be edited non-destructively, which is why enthusiast cameras like DSLRs shoot in RAW.

Unfortunately, only a few devices currently support this feature at the moment. Those are the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Pixel, and Pixel XL. Hopefully more devices are added soon. If you have one of these devices and want to check it out, update the app in the Play Store and tell us how you like it!
