RED Hydrogen One has ‘unprecedented’ carrier support, will launch this summer

RED, a company that is well known for their high-end, professional-grade cameras, announced the Hydrogen One smartphone last year. Now, months later, we finally have some more information regarding its upcoming launch. In a blog post published recently, RED confirmed that the Hydrogen One is still on the way and that it should find its way to the public sometime this summer. Before that, though, RED will be showing off the Hydrogen One smartphone sometime in April, but there isn't a specific date to circle on the calendar just yet. RED also confirmed in the blog post that carrier support is "unprecedented" and that support for the Hydrogen One is "as good as it gets." Unfortunately, the company isn't able to divulge any real details on that front just yet. The phone is going through the certification process for whichever carriers it's going to support, and RED has no control over that process. The Hydrogen One will also be available in an unlocked model, which went up for pre-order last year, and those units will ship out first. When the Hydrogen One was announced, two models were unveiled: An aluminum version with a price tag set at $1,195, and a titanium variant with a price tag starting at $1,595.
