Back in December of last year, T-Mobile announced that it was going through the process of acquiring Layer3 TV in an effort to launch its own TV streaming service. Of course, an acquisition of that sort has to be approved by the necessary regulating bodies, and it looks like T-Mobile has achieved that goal. As a result of the confirmation of acquisition, nearly 200 employees at Layer3 TV will be joining the T-Mobile team. Layer3 TV's CEO, Jeff Binder, will also be enlisting with T-Mobile as the company's newest Executive Vice President. Binder will be running the show for T-Mobile TV when it goes live. Soon Layer3 TV will be a product demoed and available for purchase at T-Mobile's stores in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. When T-Mobile TV arrives later this year, it will offer similar features as other streaming options, including offering traditional channels and online video content. There's no word on how T-Mobile will price it out just yet. Do you think you'll sign up for T-Mobile TV when it launches? Android Match
